The SweetCakes Story
SweetCakes began in 2004 with a simple belief: cake should be as delicious as it is beautiful.
What started as a passion for creating beautiful desserts has evolved into SweetCakes, a luxury wedding and event cake studio serving Lakeland and couples throughout Central Florida and beyond.
I'm Andrea Reed, the designer and creative force behind SweetCakes. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to compete on Food Network, win dessert competitions, be featured in national publications, and create cakes for countless weddings, celebrations, and events. But the thing that has never changed is why I do this: I want people to remember the cake.
Not just because it was beautiful—but because it was incomparably delicious.

A custom wedding cake shouldn't simply be beautiful on its own. It should feel like it belongs to your celebration.
That's why my design process begins long before I start decorating. I want to know the details—the invitation, venue, florals, attire, colors, favorite things and the overall feeling you're creating for your guests.
Those details become the inspiration for a cake designed specifically for you.
Sometimes it's an elegant, timeless wedding cake. Sometimes it's architectural, fashion-forward or completely unexpected. And sometimes it's a Signature Statement Cake designed to become one of the most talked-about details of the event.
Whatever the style, the goal is the same: a cake that looks like you, tastes incredible, and becomes part of the story of your day.

I believe cake lives somewhere between food, fashion, art and science.
Every SweetCakes cake is made from scratch using real ingredients—real butter, cream, eggs, natural vanilla, fresh fruits, nuts and, when appropriate, spirits. To me, food is science blended with nature. Understanding the science behind baking allows me to push the creative boundaries of cake design while never losing sight of what matters most: flavor.
Because eventually, someone has to take a bite.
And I want that bite to make them swoon

SweetCakes specializes in luxury custom wedding cakes and event cakes throughout Lakeland, Central Florida, Tampa Bay and Orlando.
From intimate celebrations to elaborate weddings and large-scale events, every cake is approached as a custom piece of edible art—with the same attention to design, craftsmanship and flavor.
Because I don't believe you should have to choose between a cake that looks amazing and one that tastes amazing.
